The Centre for Enterprise Development (CED / the Centre), a centre within the Namibia University of Science and Technology, was established in 2000 to facilitate capacity building initiatives for the public, private and NGO sectors.

Dear CED Community,
The Centre for Enterprise Development at NUST is doing a perception survey to establish the extent to which the (CED’s) vision and strategic intent reflects what the training and development centre’s represents in the hearts and minds of its community.
The purpose of this survey is to understand your personal perceptions, associations and experiences with the institution, and how well they are aligned with the strategic intent of the centre. The results will help CED to realign its branding, marketing and communication strategies to address the identified strengths and shortcomings. As a training centre, we constantly need to evaluate our positioning and delivery to ensure that we remain relevant.
As a potential or current student of CED, your participation is essential. The survey will take about 15 minutes to complete. All responses will be strictly confidential and will be used only for research purposes. Participants will remain anonymous and no personal information will be made available to anyone.

Target Group(s):
Upcoming and practicing managers with a B-degree or similar qualification or individuals who have already been in a middle management position for 5 years that may not have a formal qualification or professionals from non-management disciplines wishing to gain exposure to managerial principles.

Programme Objectives:
To broaden the perspective of new managers and supervisors, by providing knowledge, skills and techniques that will lead to more professional management, enhance the ability to make sound and informed decisions, increase the effectiveness of working with diversity in the workplace, and to foster awareness of economic, political and social factors affecting business management.

Entry Requirements:
B-degree or equivalent or individuals who have already been in a middle management position for 5 years or have completed the Certificate in Supervisory Skills Development and have at least one year working experience.

Programme Design
The Management Development Programme comprises of six modules, each of which will be offered for 2 days per month over a period of 6 months including intervals.

  • Module 1: People and Performance Management (2 Days)
  • Module 2: Strategic Management and Systems Thinking for Managers (2 Days)
  • Module 3: Operations Management (2 Days)
  • Module 4: Economics for Managers (2 Days)
  • Module 5: Finance for Managers (2 Days)
  • Module 6: Marketing and Customer Service Management (2 Days)

The Management Development is designed at NQF Level 7. After successful completion of all modules, participants will receive an Accredited Certificate from NUST.
