All trainings can be delivered during the day or in the evening. Duration varies from eight to forty eight hours. Certificates are issued based on certain criteria such as attendance, completion or competence. ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT

The SME DEVELOPMENT unit focuses on imparting relevant business management knowledge and skills to entrepreneurs in keeping with the institutional vision of educating leaders for the new economy. With the aim of ensuring the relevance and applicability of its courses, it emphasise the necessity of mentorship that forms an integral part of our training interventions. The results are positive and evident business progress resulting in growth is witnessed.

Various projects have been successfully completed through public private partnerships. Third-party-funding obtained from corporate organisations like Shell Namibia, Nedbank Namibia, Old Mutual Namibia and Rössing Uranium Limited has always been instrumental for business improvement. Below are some of the programmes we offer;

The course is for people who are interested in starting a business or have owned a business for at least 3 years. It is intended to provide participants with great understanding of the nature and purpose of business activities. It also defines and describes the distinct functional activities within a business by understanding their importance and their inter dependency. It will also help the participants apply the business theories and concepts into practical solutions for their business challenges.

This course is intended to provide practical skills on how to tender successfully as well as how to price competitively. You will also receive tendering tips, project management as well as risk management.

Setting pricing is a decision governed by many different complex forces. This course is intended to provide you with the practical skills to understand those forces and to learn how to determine prices for your products and services that will draw customers and produce a profit.

The objective of the course is to equip the participants with the necessary skills to read, understand and correctly interpret the three main financial statements namely the Income Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement that are needed for decision making.

As an entrepreneur you will be involved with marketing, either selling your idea, product or service to customers or investors and having an understanding in this area is extremely important. With our marketing class you will be able to gain the right insights in how to conduct marketing research to help you to develop products or services that will fit the customers’ needs and wants. You will also learn how to develop a marketing plan and how to engage your audience efficiently.

Any entrepreneur who is in business or is about to start a business needs a well-developed and factually based business plan to increase the likelihood of success. Join our course and learn how to do it.

CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Responds to industry needs through tailor made accredited courses, to provide key skills to industry and the Namibian labour force in general. Our customer base consists of the public, private and the NGO sector. We adopt learning interventions to satisfy the specific needs of an industry request and teach through class room training interventions, practical learning at the workplace and mentorship. Below are some of the programmes we offer;

Course objectives: To broaden the perspective of new managers and supervisors, by providing knowledge, skills and techniques that will lead to more professional management, enhance the ability to make sound and informed decisions, increase the effectiveness of working with diversity in the workplace, and to foster awareness of economic, political and social factors affecting business management.

Target Group(s): Upcoming and practicing managers with a B-degree or similar qualification or individuals who have already been in a middle management position for 5 years that may not have a formal qualification or professionals from non-management disciplines wishing to gain exposure to managerial principles

Entry Requirements: Upcoming and practicing managers with a B-degree or similar qualification or individuals who have already been in a middle management position for 5 years that may not have a formal qualification or professionals from non-management disciplines wishing to gain exposure to managerial principles


Target Group Supervisors, team leaders and new managers are invited to enroll for this programme that will enhance their basic management and leadership skills.

Admission Requirements B-degree or equivalent or individuals who have already been in a middle management position for 5 years or have completed the Certificate in Supervisory Skills Development and have at least one year


TARGET AUDIENCE: More experienced business managers, graduates and specialists, qualified to complete this course at NQF level 7.

Entry Requirements Candidates may be admitted to this programme, if they have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline, or an equivalent qualification at NQF Level 7 from a recognised institution, worth at least NQF 360 credits. In addition applicants must have at least two years relevant managerial experience in the public and/or private sector, or equal relevant setting might be considered at the discretion of the Departmentand/or Faculty.
Candidates who do not meet the above admission criteria but with at least 5 years managerial experience as well as recognition of prior learning may be considered on a case by case at the discretion of the Faculty.


The Diploma in Business Process Management is designed to equip students with a broad knowledge in the areas of business economics, accounting, retail, marketing, sales and logistics. The programme provide students with the necessary skills and business process management tools and techniques needed to improve, manage and maintain processes within the transport, logistics and related industries.The programme allows for early exit with a Diploma in Business Process Management (NQF Level 6) after successful completion of the two years of study. Graduates will be able to find employment in the public and private sectors as trainee branch managers, administrators, operations managers, marketing, procurement, sales, customer service officers, and start-up and growth opportunities as owners/managers of small- or micro- enterprises.
